JOB TITLE:                Appliance Sales & Design Specialist                                                  

REPORTS TO:           Sales Manager                                                

JOB SUMMARY:   
This position is responsible for the inside sales of appliances, furniture, mattresses, and home security/theatre systems in a fast-paced home improvement retailer.  The successful sales person will enjoy learning, design and people.  This individual will also exhibit exceptional organizational skills while effectively engaging and qualifying the customer.  With each customer you will develop the sales presentation, prepare the job estimate, maintain communication throughout the job life-cycle relationship and close the sale.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Develop and maintain an above average understanding of Cullen’s Home Center products and services. Deliver inside sales presentations in a professional manner. Ensure each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly and informative environment which includes; effectively listening and engaging with customers, displaying solid product knowledge, and evaluating customer needs.  Establishing rapport while building relationships is a key to success.  (50%)
  2. Pre-qualify the customer. Ability to assess the scope of a job request as it applies to dollars.  Ability to talk dollars in an upfront and concise manner with the customer. (25%)
  3. Ability to calculate a Bid/Estimate: (20%)
    Create drawings with AutoCAD Architecture
          Analyze blue prints
          Costing
          Calculate margins

  4. Attend and actively participate in all staff meetings, product-rep meetings and training. Perform customer measures if applicable and administrative sales support services. Assist with floor display moves, and light housekeeping.  Other duties as assigned. (5%)

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  1. Ability to communicate professionally with fellow employees and customers, while managing their home improvement project.

  2. Strong verbal, (including listening) as well as written, analytical, and interpersonal skills are required.

  3. Ability to process orders/merchandise through Tyler, POS application.

  4. Attention to detail and accuracy, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.

  5. Skill in operating personal computer and Microsoft Office suite products.

  6. Ability to maintain organization within each customer/job file.

  7. Must adhere to deadlines and prioritize well.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. High school diploma and two years of proven sales and/or customer service experience.

  2. Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Sales/Design/Marketing or a related field preferred.

  3. Ideally, the candidate has two-years of experience managing multiple projects
