We are now hiring for an Accountant I to join our Finance team.  In this role you will be  responsible for general accounting functions, including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations. You will also assist with monthly closings and account analysis as well as supporting the Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare journal entries
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts for month end close.  Identify and assist in resolving variances or changes from month to month
  • Assist as necessary with completing and communicating daily bank reporting & cash availability
  • May monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check differences
  • May prepare bank reconciliations
  • Review and process general operating expenses, OES (operating expenses for sales associates) and expense reports through Concur
  • May prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns in multiple jurisdictions
  • Reconcile, import, and maintain point of sale activity between operating systems
  • Prepare monthly corporate billings
  • Register, file and maintain business license, registrations, corporate and franchise taxes, annual reporting and unclaimed property filings.
  • Monitor, update and track lease/rent obligations and fixed assets including Right of Use tracking

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with year-end closings
  • Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit processes
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience                                                     

Required: Associate degree (AA) in accounting, finance or business management with three or more years’ related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree (BA) in accounting, finance or business management, with two to three years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  A working knowledge of accounting principles and practices, finance principles, financial reporting, technical accounting skills and proficiency in relevant accounting software.
