POSITION SUMMARY:

The Qualified Supervising Professional (QSP) is a Licensed Behavior Analyst in MN. The QSP is responsible for clinical leadership and oversight for all services delivered within the Intensive Behavioral Intervention program and the clinical effectiveness of all interventions. The QSP provides a range of applied behavior analytic (ABA) assessment and intervention services for individuals with a variety of presentations, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, developmental disabilities, behavioral disorders and/or other related conditions. The QSP ensures that all services are consistent with the Minnesota Department of Human Services (MN DHS) EIDBI policy, person-centered principles, and the agency’s mission and values.

The QSP develops, approves, and monitors individual treatment plans (ITPs) and provides clinical oversight to all levels of providers, coordinates care across settings; and ensures treatment integrity, documentation accuracy, and compliance with EIDBI standards.

The QSP plays a critical role in guiding the interdisciplinary team, supporting parent and caregiver training, maintaining quality assurance, and promoting outcomes that are functional, measurable, and meaningful for each individual and family served.

AIM (Autism Innovation in Motion) is a program which serves children with autism. Minnesota AIM is licensed under EIDBI regulations, a Medicaid service. AIM services are intended for children ages 0-21 and services are provided up to 40 hours per week across clinic and home or other community locations, including some schools, with a focus on generalization and social relevance. The QSP is in charge of programming provided at AIM.

In a general sense the QSP at Solutions conducts behavioral assessments, develops treatment plans, implements ABA interventions, provides consultation, and oversees programming for identified clients. The QSP provides and/or oversees training to parents, caregivers, and associated staff. The QSP is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, scheduling, communicating and continually evaluating the currency of functional assessments, behavioral evaluations, and behavior intervention plans for clients. Principles of Applied Behavior Analysis are always incorporated in their work. The QSPs are required to adhere to the ethical codes of their discipline, e.g., BACB’s Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts® as well as all regulatory and statutory rules in the state of service. QSPs maintain a weekly billable caseload of service hours as directed by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

The QSP must:

  • Hold a master’s degree or higher in a related field (e.g., psychology, education, behavior analysis, social work, special education, or a related discipline).
  • Be licensed as a Behavior Analyst in Minnesota and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
  • Have at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience providing clinical services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or related conditions.
  • Maintain state licensure as required by law

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Primary Responsibilities

  • Complete (or supervise qualified staff) required initial assessments for clients, justifying the need for recommended services. Required assessments include a) those clinically indicated depending upon the client need, such as developmental or adaptive behavior assessments, behavioral checklists, and behavior observation; as well as b) those required for monitoring of program outcomes.
  • Administers, conducts, evaluates and supervises the implementation of behavioral assessment measures and functional assessment measures. Generates ABC data for problem behavior, identifies the function and replacement behaviors
  • Develop, review, approve, and sign all Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs) and ensure each plan aligns with the individual’s goals, preferences, and cultural and linguistic needs.
  • Ensure services are person- and family-centered, incorporating the child’s and family’s values, goals, and preferences
  • Provides parent/caregiver training using a Behavioral Skills Training model. Develops quantifiable goals for parent training and provides written feedback notes for parents
  • Conduct or oversee comprehensive assessments, including functional behavior assessments and treatment evaluations.
  • Determine and document the level of parent/caregiver training and counseling needed to support treatment goals.
  • Supervise, manage, and review all aspects of services, including case notes, treatment documentation, incident reports, and billing, to ensure compliance and clinical fidelity.
  • Coordinate and facilitate care conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Provide clinical supervision and oversight to all providers and ensure supervision meets both DHS and licensing board requirements.
  • Ensure all staff under supervision receive ongoing feedback, competency assessments, and training.
  • Maintains billable caseload and accurately documents billable hours in the electronic medical record
  • Conducts other standardized measures for clinical use, as indicated or required by third party payers, e.g., PEAK, VB-MAPP, ABAS, PDD-BI and incorporates these findings as is clinically indicated.  Completes identified outcome measures, as scheduled.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Ensure all documentation meets DHS and payer standards, including progress notes, ITPs, treatment updates, and discharge summaries.
  • Participate in internal audits, compliance reviews, and quality assurance processes.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions.
