Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:30 PM & Saturday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Hours per Day: 8
Compensation: Starting at $22.27 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

About the Role

Join our team at Alexandria Area High School! We’re looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position plays a vital role in keeping our school running smoothly and looking its best.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain school facilities, including floors, carpets, and restrooms

  • Strip, wax, buff, and sweep floors; vacuum carpets and respond to emergency clean-ups

  • Perform light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, minor plumbing repairs, and small equipment fixes

  • Assist with larger equipment repairs as needed

  • Maintain building security by locking/unlocking doors and monitoring automated systems, HVAC, and boiler operations

  • Restock cleaning and maintenance supplies

  • Load and unload deliveries at the receiving dock

  • Set up spaces for events, performances, and athletic activities

  • Perform outdoor maintenance such as snow and ice removal, salting sidewalks, and general grounds upkeep

  • Complete thorough summer cleaning of the entire school
