POSITION AVAILABLE: Support Services Nursing Tutor (PCN #01098524)

CLASSIFICATION: College Laboratory Assistant 2 – Nursing (Job Code 002632 – Option 0319)

EMPLOYMENT CONDITION: Intermittent, Temporary (Dates and times are flexible according to student need (up to 8 hours/week by student demand)

Benefits such as insurance and leave are not applicable to this position

SALARY RANGE:  $21.89 to $30.58 Per Hour

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

This position provides supplemental instruction and assistance for students enrolled in a

Minnesota State Nursing Program.  This position reports to the Director of Student Engagement and Support. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current State of MN Nursing Licensure and
• One academic year of teaching/tutoring experience in Nursing at the high school level or above.

Preferred Qualifications:

• RN Licensure.
• Maternal-child/OB/Peds experience.
• Knowledge of teaching techniques, nursing theory and procedures sufficient to tutor students, evaluate instructional materials and, if necessary, develop and modify instructional materials.
• Knowledge of technical course content sufficient to tutor students.
• Ability to work effectively with students to assist learning by recognizing individual learning styles and encourage students to focus on how they learn best.
• Ability to effectively manage time and direct students’ efforts efficiently in a group or one-to-one setting.
