As a Loan & Customer Service Representative at Viking Bank (Ashby Location), you’ll play a key role in supporting both loan operations and front-line customer service. This hybrid position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, values accuracy, and thrives in a relationship-driven environment.

The majority of your time will be dedicated to loan support - preparing documents, maintaining files, and assisting customers with loan-related inquiries. The remaining will involve teller responsibilities, including handling transactions and helping customers with everyday banking needs.

How You’ll Make a Difference – The Viking Way

Deliver Exceptional Loan Support

  • Prepare, review, and process loan documents for new, renewed, and modified loans across product lines.
  • Track and follow up on required documentation such as title work, insurance binders, flood certifications, payoffs, and employment verifications.
  • Upload and maintain loan files in the bank’s imaging system, ensuring proper indexing and accuracy.
  • Complete loan checkbacks, paid loan maintenance, and file closures including lien releases and mortgage satisfactions.
  • Respond to loan-related inquiries and assist customers with online banking setup for loan accounts.
  • Prepare regulatory notices including Adverse Action and demand letters at the request of loan officers.
  • Maintain weekly and monthly loan reports and ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory standards.

Support Teller & Customer Service Functions

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Conduct basic banking transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and account transfers.
  • Help customers with internet banking setup, password resets, and account linking.
  • Order and print debit cards and checks.
  • Maintain a secure and organized workspace and follow all bank procedures for customer verification and privacy.
  • Refer customers to appropriate team members for more complex financial needs.
