Health Educator
Horizon Public Health serving Douglas, Pope, Stevens, Traverse, and Grant counties are seeking applicants for a Full Time Health Educator. This role will focus on substance use prevention targeting youth with impact in the broader Pope County community. This position will be working out of and supporting Minnewaska Area Schools.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the Communities That Care (CTC) grant from MDH, with a goal to prevent youth substance use, including but not limited to alcohol, cannabis, and commercial tobacco use, through a multifaceted approach.
Minimum qualifications include a Baccalaureate degree in public health, health education, community health or related field and one to three years of experience in health education or community health programs. A successful applicant must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug test. Must have valid MN driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation. This is a Grade 12 MNA/AFSCME Council #65 union position with Monday through Friday hours. Occasional non-traditional work hours required.
HPH offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package. Starting salary range is $32.91-$34.93/hour with earning potential up to $42.96/hour.
