Alexandria Public Schools Community Education offers a wide range of engaging youth and adult programs year-round. We are currently seeking creative, energetic, and personable individuals who are passionate about supporting families and providing outstanding customer service to join our dynamic team.

About the Compass Program:
Compass is our school-age care program, offering before- and after-school, non-school day, and summer care for students in PreK–5th Grade. The program is conveniently located in all elementary schools and at the Early Education Center.

Position Highlights – Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support students and fellow Compass staff in daily activities

  • Help plan and facilitate engaging activities that align with program goals

  • Create a warm, caring, and inclusive environment for students and staff

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants

  • Build positive relationships with families through daily communication

  • Provide behavior support for students and help implement Behavioral Intervention Plans

  • Support students in developing social skills and reducing disruptive behaviors

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with students in PreK–5th Grade

  • Prior leadership experience preferred

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with students, staff, and parents

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Post-secondary education preferred

Compensation:
$19.34–$20.31 per hour, depending on experience
