Health Educator

Horizon Public Health serving Douglas, Pope, Stevens, Traverse, and Grant counties is seeking applicants for a Full Time Health Educator. This role will concentrate on cannabis and substance use prevention and will involve regular travel across all five counties. The position may be based out of any HPH office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the Cannabis and Substance Use Prevention Grant from MDH, with a strong emphasis on educational and preventive initiatives related to cannabis use.

Minimum qualifications include a Baccalaureate degree in public health, health education, community health or related field and one to three years of experience in health education or community health programs.  Successful applicant must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug test.  Must have valid MN driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation. This is a Grade 12 MNA/AFSCME Council #65 union position with Monday through Friday hours.  Occasional non-traditional work hours required.

HPH offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package.  Starting salary range is $32.91-$34.93/hour with earning potential up to $42.96/hour.
