STARTING DATE: Approximately April 7, 2025

APPOINTMENT: Full-Time, Limited (up to 3 years)

Based upon eligible funding, this position could continue beyond three years

SALARY RANGE: $27.84 – $40.82/hour ($58,130 - $85,232)

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success (CEVSS) Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in establishing and managing the CEVSS, serving as the primary point of contact for veteran students. This position focuses on providing comprehensive support for academic needs while emphasizing enhanced social and emotional services that address community-based violence exposure and trauma specific to military- or veteran-connected students. This program encourages model programs to support veteran student success in postsecondary education by coordinating services to address the academic, financial, physical, and social needs of veteran students. Works with the business office to ensure external funds are requested and received, while reporting requirements are being met and maintaining and monitoring project records and budgets.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of experience working with veteran populations, preferably in a higher education setting; a Bachelor’s degree my substitute for one year of experience and an Associate’s degree may substitute for six months of experience.
  • Strong understanding of military culture and the unique challenges faced by veteran students.
  • Demonstrated experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Military experience strongly preferred, either active duty/veteran status or civilian experience working with military operations. Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of military protocols, leadership capabilities, and ability to work in dynamic environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, self-directed, and attentive to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lead and direct activities, identify objectives, action steps, and resource needs, negotiate exchanges of resources, time, or knowledge, and collaborate with and/or influence others to the point of causing understanding and action.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education or related field.
  • Adaptable and flexible in response to changing needs.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and community-based violence intervention strategies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
  • Excellent computer skills and understanding of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Personal experience or family relationships with current or former members of the military.
