Pharmacy Technician

Seeking Pharmacy Tech to assist the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to patients between Alexandria pharmacy locations - Downtown location and Alexandria Clinic Pharmacy location. Daily duties include gathering, labeling and distributing medications accurately and efficiently.  Duties also include packaging and preparing safely compound medications, managing and distributing controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies; and assists with drug diversion surveillance.  Will also assist with maintaining accurate medication inventories and billing of medications. Great communication skills, and ability to perform responsibilities and duties of the job in a manner that is attentive to age and ability considerations as well as flexibility to travel between the two Alexandria locations are required.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent. 

• Effectively reads, writes, speaks and understands English. Able to learn technical tasks. Able to follow written and verbal directions. Able to apply math and calculator skills along with a working knowledge of the metric system. Possess strong telephone and verbal communication skills. Experience with the use of office software computer applications and keyboarding.  Background check required for all candidates.

• Prior Pharmacy Tech experience preferred

License & Certification:  

• Current registration with the Board of Pharmacy where required by state regulation, or eligibility for registration. 

• National Pharmacy Technician certification within 12 months of hire.
