Alexandria Public Schools is seeking a skilled and reliable Head Custodian to join our team at Miltona Elementary School!

In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring a positive learning environment for our students and staff. You'll be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

• Maintaining a clean and sanitary school building through sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
• Performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing systems (boiler's license required within 6 months of employment).
• Ensuring the proper functioning of security and alarm systems.
• Setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for meetings and events.
• Monitoring inventory levels and maintaining the custodial supply room.
• Providing courteous and helpful customer service to the public regarding building usage and safety protocols.

You'll be a valued member of our school community, working under the general supervision of the Building Principal.

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A commitment to providing excellent customer service
• Ability to lift and carry moderate weight
