Night Lead Custodian Needed at Discovery Middle School !

Alexandria Public Schools is searching for a dedicated Night Lead Custodian to join our team at Discovery Middle School!
In this leadership role, you'll be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for students and staff during the evening hours. You'll oversee a team of custodians and tackle a variety of tasks, including:
- Maintaining building systems: Manage heating, ventilation, air conditioning, security, lighting, and alarms to ensure proper functionality.
- Leading cleaning operations: Oversee and participate in cleaning tasks like floor care, carpet vacuuming, and emergency cleanup.
- Performing minor maintenance: Address minor plumbing repairs, replace lights, and assist with repairs as needed.
- Ensuring a safe environment: Monitor building usage for events, provide information to the public, and assist with setting up and taking down activities.
As the Night Lead Custodian, you'll be a strong communicator and team leader, providing direction and support to your custodial staff. You'll also be a problem-solver, able to identify and address maintenance issues that arise during the night shift.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Supervisory experience (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and lead a team
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to providing excellent service
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weight
- Must obtain Boilers License within 6 months of hire.
Alexandria Public Schools offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Compensation: $22.03 per hour ($23.28 after July 1), depending on qualifications and experience.
