Community Education’s, School-age care program, Compass Assistant - Summer 2026

Part Time, Hours 7am-12Noon or 12Noon-5:30pm

Alexandria Public Schools Community Education offers a wide variety of youth and adult programs throughout the year. Community Education is looking for creative, energetic, and personable people who have a passion for families and have outstanding customer service skills to join our dynamic team.

Compass is Alexandria Community Education’s school-age care program, providing before- and after-school, non-school day and summer care for students PreK-6th Grade. 

The Compass Assistants are often appealing to high school and college students looking for money or considering a career in teaching or child development.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age

Essential Functions
The Compass Assistant supports the planning and implementation of the child care program and its daily activities. Assistants will participate and supervise daily activities and site areas in accordance with program guidelines, operations and daily plans.

Compensation: $14-$15/hour.
